Everything Claude Code (ECC)
A full engineering system for your agent: plan, test, review, verify, remember.
What Everything Claude Code (ECC) does
Everything Claude Code, now called ECC, is a large toolbox that gives an agent an engineering routine: plan before building, verify with tests, review from a fresh context, remember what matters, and turn repeated wins into reusable habits. You install it once instead of re-describing that process in every prompt.
The current release counts 71 specialised agents, 311 skills and 97 legacy commands, plus hooks, rule packs, session memory, continuous learning and AgentShield, a scanner for risky prompts, hooks, MCP settings and secrets in agent files. It works best in Claude Code and has native plugins for Codex and Qoder.
Use it when
- You want a complete, opinionated workflow rather than assembling skills one by one.
- You use Claude Code and Codex on the same projects and want the same setup in both.
- You care about auditing agent configuration for security problems.
Skip it when
- You prefer a few small skills you fully understand; ECC is big.
- You run a local or low-context model; use the minimal profile, or something lighter.
How it works
- The guided setup installs the ecc@ecc plugin with your chosen scope and hook profile.
- Skills load only when relevant, which keeps the context window focused.
- Hooks enforce the routine at runtime and write session summaries and learned "instincts" that are fed back at the start of later sessions.
- Rules are optional always-on standards you add per language or project.
How to install Everything Claude Code (ECC)
Claude Code (guided, recommended)
npx ecc-universal@2.2.3 setupNeeds Node.js 18+, Git and Claude Code 2.1+. For a personal setup choose Global user and Standard hooks. The version number changes with each release.
Claude Code (native plugin)
/plugin marketplace add https://github.com/affaan-m/ECC
/plugin install ecc@eccCodex
codex plugin marketplace add affaan-m/ECC
codex plugin add ecc@eccMinimal, no hooks
npx ecc-universal@2.2.3 install --profile minimal --target claudeChoose one install method per harness. Installing ECC twice into the same tool duplicates skills, commands and hooks; the README has a reset guide if that happens.
Prompts to try
- /ecc:plan "Add authentication with magic links"
- /code-review
- /build-fix
- /context-budget
Tips and gotchas
- Start from the task, not the catalogue: /ecc:plan for a feature, a failing test plus tdd-workflow for a bug, /code-review for a fresh-context review.
- End long sessions with /save-session and pick up later with /resume-session.
- Claude Code plugins cannot ship rules, so add only the rule packs you want.
- After installing, /ecc:configure-ecc changes scope or hook profile without reinstalling.
FAQ
Is ECC the same as everything-claude-code?
Yes. The repository was renamed to affaan-m/ECC; the old everything-claude-code address redirects there.
Does ECC work with Codex?
Yes, as a native Codex plugin: codex plugin marketplace add affaan-m/ECC, then codex plugin add ecc@ecc.
Is it free?
ECC is open source under MIT. The project also sells an ECC Pro tier with a GitHub App.
Something is duplicated after installing. What happened?
Usually two install methods were stacked in the same harness. Follow the Reset / Uninstall section of the README and install once.
