Impeccable

A design vocabulary for your agent: polish, audit, critique, bolder, quieter.

What Impeccable does

Impeccable is one skill with 24 commands that give you and your agent a shared language for design work. Instead of writing "make it look better", you run /impeccable polish settings or /impeccable critique landing and the agent knows exactly what kind of pass to do.

It started from Anthropic's frontend-design skill and adds a project setup step, live iteration in the browser, and 59 deterministic detector rules that flag the usual tells of AI-generated design: Inter everywhere, purple-to-blue gradients, cards inside cards, grey text on coloured backgrounds. Those checks run without an LLM or API key.

Use it when

You want precise design passes (audit, polish, harden) instead of vague requests.
You want automated checks that catch generic AI styling before you ship.
Your team uses several agents and wants the same design commands in all of them.

Skip it when

You only need a one-time page and do not want any setup.

How it works

/impeccable init inspects the project, asks only about real gaps, and writes PRODUCT.md with the audience, purpose, constraints and voice.
Commands such as shape, craft, critique, audit, polish, typeset, layout, animate and harden each run a specific kind of design pass.
Live mode lets you iterate on elements in the browser and generate variants.
The CLI and browser extension run the deterministic detector rules without any AI.

How to install Impeccable

Any supported agent (recommended)

npx impeccable install

Run it in your project root, then run /impeccable init in your agent. Update later with npx impeccable update.

Claude Code (plugin)

/plugin marketplace add pbakaus/impeccable

Then open /plugin and install Impeccable from the list.

GitHub Copilot in VS Code

code --install-extension renaissance-geek.impeccable

Codex users need to open /hooks after installing or updating and approve the project hook.

Tips and gotchas

Run init first; later commands use PRODUCT.md to keep choices consistent with your audience.
Use /impeccable pin audit to create a short /audit command for passes you run often.
bolder and quieter are useful opposites when a design is either flat or shouting.

Yes. It is open source under Apache 2.0. Docs and downloads are at impeccable.style.

Does it work in Codex?

Yes. npx impeccable install detects ~/.codex; approve the project hook in /hooks afterwards.
